Product Description

During the American colonial period of the 18th century, colonists hung bird bottles on walls near kitchen gardens, stables, and farmyards to attract nesting birds. The birds rewarded the colonists with natural environmental benefits. Inspired by the innovation of the colonial bird bottles, this 'peek-a-boo' birdhouse bottle brings the same creative functionality to modern times. Handcrafted of durable stoneware , the bird bottle is designed to hang securely upon a single screw (included). Mount on the side of your house, a fence, or any surface that accepts screws. The birdhouse is completely frost-proof and is suitable for year-round use in all climates. Provides the perfect habitat for small nesting birds, such as wrens, finches and some swallows. Handcrafted in North Carolina. Mounting hardware and instructions included. > Where should I mount my Peek a Boo Birdhouse? Do not hang the bird bottle very close to bird feeders, as the feeders attract many close visitors. Do not hang the bird bottle in direct sun on the south side of a wall, as this will result in the bird house being too hot. For best results, mount near bushes or foliage where small birds can perch, search for food, and hide if necessary. > Why is there no perch? Perches are recommended only for bird feeders, not birdhouses, as the perch can provide access to potential predators. Birds can easily enter without the use of a perch.

Installed it over my greenhouse door. Looks great, not a fragile object.
