I like the design and looks of this fan. It's outside duty and susceptibility to wind is what made us choose a 'Hugger' (Flush mount) design. We got the Remote-control version with 3 speeds and that is fine. Love the 'One, Two or Three Hour' button that automatically turns the fan off at the requested time.I like this fan, but I don't love it. We have a small (10x120') Covered Lanai and really wanted loads of air flow, both for cooling and to keep the bugs away. We got the 52" version. This fan was rated (at other sites) at 6421.56 CFM. This might be accurate, but it is a very directional fan. You primarily feel the air flow directly under the fan and it goes down quickly as you get further from the center of the fan. Also, at the highest speed, you could hear the motor running. In addition to that, there is a sporadic light rattling sound that I can't pinpoint.I'm probably going to replace this fan with a larger fan and put this inside where medium and low speeds are desired. In conclusion:Looks 5Installation 5Airflow 3Noise 3Since Airflow and noise were the primary reason you get a ceiling fan, I rated the overall fan as a 3. If you wanted gentle airflow and are only going to keep it on medium or low, it would be a 5.
