2 year update: I would still recommend these fans to anyone with all of the quirks mentioned below in the original review. All fans are fully operational and overall no major issues with the fans themselves, the app (on android), and the Wi-Fi connectivity. The included Bluetooth remotes however. Complete garbage. Cannot for the life of me understand why modern forms thought that this design was OK. I've had to re-solder the battery retainers for every one of our 5 fans multiple times now. Two of them refuse to work consistently even after ensuring fresh clean solder contacts for both of the battery retainers. Those rooms we're left with only the app (which sure isn't the end of the world but you don't always want to unlock your phone, open the app, wait for it to sync with the fan, then set the light/fan level desired, and put your phone away). The biggest issue with the remotes is the magnetic cradle isn't strong enough for everyday use and you will inadvertently knock it off of the cradle which is of course commonly mounted at light switch height. This means the horrid soldering job on the remote battery contacts snap and leave the remote with the batteries floating around inside of the plastic case. However even remotes that haven't met their demise to a 3 foot drop to the floor have over time suffered from these manufacturing defects. So I'm knocking off a star after 2 years as a result of these shoddy Bluetooth remotes.Purchased 5 of these (4 bronze, 1 black) to replace fans throughout a 70s era house. First install was fairly lengthy due to making sure the instructions were followed correctly, and a somewhat 'custom' mounting style due to how the original fan was mounted...To those that complain on other reviews about the instructions they are really good other than maybe one step where they could do a better job explaining how to connect the down rod to the fan base. One other pro tip is the control module placement inside of the mounting bracket, my first fan I didn't follow the instructions well and the other 4 were much better. In regards to the control module it eliminates the need for additional wiring. Most of the fans in my house had their lights/fans powered by the same switch and had individual cords you could pull to operate them individually. With the control module the extra wire used to control the fan/light with two switches is actually just capped/unused.Functionality do not listen to any posts complaining about 'lag or delay' in the fan or light turning on. These are people that don't understand new tech. This fan is designed to always be powered. If you use their optional Bluetooth outlet this issue wont present itself. If you're using the old switch and you install this fan you LEAVE YOUR SWITCH ON at all times. This fan is controlled with the remote that comes with it or via the app, or via google/alexa if you integrate them with your app.I have confirmed some of the quirky things others have mentioned. We've noticed the odd very dim glow from the light when it's supposed to be off but the fan is on, turning the fan off then back on made the faint glow stop. After a couple weeks this has only happened once that we've noticed. The fan does 'jolt' a bit when you first turn on the fan at any speed which is just how the motor works and you get used to it. One note about the fan speeds our old hunter fans operating at their highest speed is only about a 2-3 on this fan. At speeds 4-6 this fan really really moves some air. Also the 'breeze' function is really nice on a warm day with the windows open. We were fortunate and nothing was missing or damaged or re-used across any of the 5 fans purchased. So far no noises from motors or any functionality issues. They all joined Wi-Fi no problem and work well with google assistant. Having the ability to be lazy and yell at google to turn on your fan/light or turn off all the fans/lights in the house is really nice and makes the cost feel like it was worth it.Update: We're a year in and still no major issues with any of the fans.
