I bought this album based on the strenth of her previous album Caves. I bought this album after I chatted with Tristen in Atlanta about how modern mediocre music. She had just opened for Highly Suspect. The (her) performance was very good and the album was better than anything I had heard in a long time. Honestly, I kinda fell in love with the album, her talent, and her voice. It may be the most played cd in my vehicle for the past 2 years.Sneaker Waves is very good. It's different than Caves, and maybe less poppy, or less modern. Her influences are apparent on both albums but this one seems to wear it on its sleaves. For the record, I'm not a Beatles fan at all, but I really like what Tristen comes up with. This album often sounds like 60's rock. I hear Beatles, maybe Beach Boys, Tom Petty, and The Doors several times. It feels like an homage at times, but not for the whole album; there is a lot of original work that fits the album well and just sounds good. Her work often reminds me of 2004 era John Frusciante music, and I like that a lot. Her music is very good. It's a 10 out of 10 for me.
